Please Double Check Your Receipt! Because His Sago That Costs RM1.40 Become RM400! Netizen Says,” Sago From Heaven??”

After your grocery shopping, it’s important to double-check on the receipt. Or else, you probably will be paying extra!

A netizen, Faiz took social media to share on his shopping experience. He said he was lucky as he did check the receipt, or else he was going to pay RM400 extra!

The post read:

Be careful when you do grocery shopping in the hypermarket!

I always see it happened on others, but now it’s my turn! I went to Mydin to do grocery shopping for my mum few days back, the bill was shocking me as it’s amounting RM890!

I was in shock because most of the time the bill only cost me around RM400+. Normally with my mum, we will get food that can last us at least 2 to 3 weeks. We tried our best not to go out so frequent during the pandemic.

Although it’s RM890, but still i paid the bill, the cashier told me,” because you bought a lot of things, that is why it cost this much.” But still i felt strange. As usual, i will double-check the receipt to ensure everything is right.

After going through the receipt, only i realised the price a pack of sago which cost RM1.40 was wrong punched to RM400!

Then i went to the customer service counter asking for refund. Immediately the personnel in the customer service refunded the RM400 to me. I can’t help but to praise them as they are very efficient in terms of refunding.

So, the conclusion: After every purchase, please check your receipt.

Sometimes the cashier will wrongly scanned some items, the pricing will be so different. Although we might be tease stingy or nasty but most importantly we paid for whatever we bought, because it’s our hard earned money.

So no more where ever you buy things, please be smarter. Check your receipt! Sometimes it’s the system that causing the problem, if we never checked we might be paying extra.

Let’s check out the netizens’ comments:

▼ Some poking fun asking whether is the Sago from Heaven?

▼” Colour also stated wrongly”

▼” Cost per unit ( in piece) is RM16k.. Gold also not as expensive as that!”

▼” They count in piece in the receipt, it’s written 16036 right? It’s price per piece, as expensive as RM400″

▼” Maybe it’s RM1.40 per piece”

▼” Me too! When i was at the counter, the cashier was in shocked and told me the Daun limau is RM99. Then she asked me to get another pack. Then only i found out the price is RM0.99.”

▼” I had the same experience in Target. I normally spend RM250. But that day the bill went up to RM2000. My heart nearly dropped. When i checked the peanut cost RM1800 per pack. 1kg.. peanut coated with gold”

▼” I had the same experience too, i bought a lemongrass for RM189.20 in Econsave. I only happened to find out when i reached home.”

▼”I had the same experience and the bill went to RM1000+.. normally when my parents spend RM200-300. It’s the first time the bill was RM1000. My mum was shocked ask me to check back. It’s actually the ice-cream my sis wanted to buy was detected RM1200 in the system. But in fact the ice-cream cost RM12 only”

▼” The code of the product is incorrect. I used to buy chicken, and the price in the bill cost RM1k +. If the staff punched in a wrong code or multiply a incorrect quantity can be the cause of a wrong price tag. So, please keep the receipt.”

▼” I had the same experience but not in Mydin, just a normal store. 2 tomato cost me RM6.00. I told them the price wasn’t logic and they did weigh again and the tomatoes priced at RM0.90 only”

▼” Both customer and cashier have to double check the receipt. Because sometimes the weighing can go wrong they scanned the barcode, only half of the code detected or wrong quantity. Some cashier will take note while some don’t. But it’s not wrong for the customer to double check just in case the casher overlooked it. Although customer is always right. But not all misunderstanding should be sorted out through argument. Let’s just iron out the things together and live harmoniously!”
