To quit a job and be a farmer is not an easy decision. But i believe this Malaysian man make a right choice to be a farmer as his monthly pay becoming his daily pay now!
Noresam from Kota Tinggi, who is now 44-year-old quit his job as a technician in a factory 5 years ago. He has 1 arch land for farming. Now his daily income can up to RM1000, which used to be his monthly income in his previous job!
In an interview with 《Kosmo!》, he said he used irrigation and fertilization method to grow watermelons and chilies. But lately he focus on planting cucumbers as it can harvest in shorter period of time.
「I’m using 4,200 plastic bags to plant cucumbers so i can harvest 20 tons within a season. Roughly getting net profit of RM30,000 per season. 」
「I used to be a factory technician , then a contractor in Bandar Tenggara for some times. But my contract ended and i’m lazy to go other places to look for a job. From that moment, i decided to be a farmer.」

He told media outlet that he do not have knowledge and experience in agriculture sector,「I learned a lot from other farmers. I will also visit their farm and asking for their advise.」
Noresam is a father of 3. He is using part of his savings RM30,000 as an investment on irrigation and fertilization system. He think this investment worth its value in his agriculture business.
He said his decision to be a farmer is something he did right. Now he can spend more times with his family and also having a good income. If 5 years back he never start up his business but still working as an employee. He won’t be able to have a life like now, as he will need to head to work early and returning home late.
Noresam said nothing is easy. He faced a lot of challenges and obstacle during the early days. For examples, dumping and no market demand, he was throwing near to 1 tons of cucumbers a day. 「At that time, i have no idea how to market my products then i took some courses to cope my shortcomings.」
