Malaysian live streamer, Umance was accused promoting and selling 3D2N tour package priced at RM399 for Laguna Redang Island Resort without the resort consensus. During his 2 hours live broadcast on 11.11 , more than 8,000 packages sold. However, on the same day Laguna clarified in a statement that they never authorised any online merchant to sell package for them.
Questioned by individuals who bought the package, Laguna said they received RM 100k remittance from unknown party and already rejected and refunded the amount to the sender. Beside that, the resort also lodged a police report and urged public who bought the packages to lodge a police report to prevent further fraud.

On the hand, Umance broke the silence appeared in a live stream apologized to the buyers admitting his ” technical fault” and said as a entrepreneur he will took the responsibility giving 2 options to the 8,000 buyers of Laguna tour package.
He added one of the option is to upgrade those packages to another 5-star hotel which is Tanjung Rhu Resort, Langkawi. He can be seen in the resort himself, together with his team and the person in charge of the resort and Fantastic Tour Services, the tour agency that partner with them for this Tanjung Rhu tour package. He and the team can be seen showcasing amenities of Tanjung Rhu resort.
For those who intended to change the package to Tanjung Rhu package, it will remain to a 3D2N tour package with meals included, airport transfer, day tour in Langkawi, transferable and date to select later with no additional surcharge.
He also stressed that since it’s his ” technical fault” so the the buyers will not need to pay anything but he will top up for discrepancy to upgrade them from 4-star to a 5-star resort instead.
Those who do not want to change to Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi resort can contact their customer service to ask for refund.
He also added those who bought the package are eligible to participate in a lucky draw for brand new Proton X50 SUV, those who bought 2 packages can get a free luggage bag, will terms and condition remain the unchanged.
